Blue sky, turquoise sea, brown sargassum, multi-colored plastic trash


This is the beach between Bahia Principe and Grand Oasis Tulum on the afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 12.

You can see sargassum rolling in, and plastic garbage wrapped up in the seaweed.

I’ve been spending time with friends and family staying in the region, and hope to get back the real beaches of Tulum on Friday.
